Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program
Tarr Academy has been awarded a Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP) USDA grant. The grant is provided by The Nevada Department of Agriculture and coordinated by Clark County School District Food Services.
A fresh fruit or vegetable snack will be provided for all students at least two days each week.
The Goal of the FFVP is to:
- Create healthier school environments by providing healthier food choices
- Expand the variety of fruits and vegetables children experience
- Increase children’s fruit and vegetable consumption
- Make a difference in children’s diets to impact their present and future health
Snacks will be eaten in the classroom.
Children will be encouraged to try the fruit or vegetable snack each day, but they may opt to not participate if they do not like or cannot eat the fruit or vegetable that day.
Please notify us regarding any allergies your student may have to fruits and/or vegetables.
